We are a boutique home based respite (STA) full of genuine kindness and old-fashioned hospitality where our NDIS participants are treated like VIP guests whilst receiving their necessary everyday supports in our luxuriously appointed home on the Gold Coast.
During your stay you will be absolutely spoiled as our only guest (with NDIS approval), or come with your buddy! Your every need & desire will be catered for by a husband & wife team supporting you 24/7. Yelena is an experienced & qualified disability support worker & former restaurant host; whilst Campbell is an award winning, internationally qualified chef, both with decades of person-centred industry experience. Whether you prefer to receive personal cares from a female or a male, we are both available as you choose, so you can feel at ease.

At Absolute R&R Respite apart from providing you with endless choices of Rest, Recreation & Learning; we pride ourselves not just on our professionalism, but also our compassion, and strive to ensure our guests have a personalized experience and are all treated as people - not just a number!

With the Gold Coast and Mt Tamborine on our doorstep, we will support you to try as many activities as you desire or simply relax and recharge in our beautifully appointed home with a heated saltwater swimming pool, full gym, library, ducted air-con, gorgeous outdoor patio, tropical gardens and off course, a beautifully appointed bedroom suite with your own bathroom/toilet. Modern conveniences such as free WiFi and two separate lounges with three different streaming services are provided.

OUR STORY
We (Yelena and Campbell) have been working as a team since 1988 with the founding of our overarching company, Ambrosia. We have been directly involved in the operations of all our ventures together in a very hands-on manner. Together we owned and operated three catering businesses/restaurants for a total period of 12 years.
During this time, our success was recognized by others with multiple awards for best restaurant and excellent reviews in publications such as “The New York Times”, “The Lonely Planet” and “Fodor’s Travel Guide”. This was followed by a sixteen-year stint in the building industry where once again we enjoyed helping hundreds of clients build their custom designed dream home.

From a young age, we both provided support to our respective parents who were affected by various disabilities. More recently we traveled to NZ to provide 24/7 palliative support to Campbell’s elderly mother who was profoundly deaf, bed bound and suffered from advanced Alzheimer's. This was one of many experiences that led us to the idea of opening a home-based disability support respite, where we could utilize our substantial person-centered skills and experience to provide the people we support with an affordable five-star STA service.

We are absolutely committed to providing you with the highest quality service possible which is one reason why we personally provide all the support required to our participants. The only other “carer” you will meet is our precious therapy support dog “Pugsy”. She is an old, gentle Beagle/Pug cross who likes nothing better than a cuddle. At Absolute R&R Respite, we pride ourselves in our relaxed atmosphere, friendly environment, high quality support; and it’s our ultimate aim to make your visit as enjoyable as possible.
